We all wet our feet to get to that spot and look in the awe the white rock lit by the sunlight, which naturally became the center of attraction. But this final picture doesn't catch much of the extreme brightness of the rock, partly because its surroundings are also over-exposed and totally blocked out in the printing process. I remembered spotmetered the white rock and the dark canyon rock face on the left side. There was a huge spread, exceeding 7 zones. So I recorded with N- processing. The final exposure tim is based on the darkest details as zone 2. It's a massively long exposure and I almost bored myself by counting my fingers, because I forgot to carry a watch. This is a very hard to print. Even this one is not very satisfactory. You got to burn so much in the highlight area. I think I might try flash the print first for next printing.
