Bildet av tvillingsøstrene Schie på 71 år er rett og slett fantastisk. Astri og Randi Schie smiler til fotografen i stuen i sitt felles hjem. De har på seg identiske kjoler, de har alltid vært likt kledd. Håret er nylagt på samme vis. Gjennom hele livet har Astri og Randi knapt vært fra hverandre én uke. I 40 år jobbet de som kontordamer i samme avdeling i et forsikringsselskap. Bildet forteller så mange historier. Det er som om man kan fornemme lukten av nybakte småkaker og kokekaffe, høre latteren deres eller et bjeff fra en av hundene det er bilde av på veggen, over nissen. Bildet av søstrene Schie er del av en større bildeserie, tatt av fotograf Barbro Fauske Steinde i 1989. De sto på trykk i Billedbladet NÅ, og ble premiert i konkurransen Årets bilde samme år. Bildeserien oppbevares nå i Riksarkivet som en del av privatarkiv 1307 - Pressefotografenes Klubb, Årets bilde. Arkivet består av ca. 8000 pressefotografier innsendt til konkurransen i perioden 1974-1990. Runhild Seim, archivist at the National Archive, has chosen this week's photo: "Of all the photos I’ve come across, there is one that has made a special impression. The photo of the twin sisters Schie, 71 years old, is simply fantastic. Astrid and Randi Schie smile to the photographer in the living room of their home. They wear identical dresses, they have always dressed alike. Their hair is styled in the same way. In their whole lives, Astri and Randi have hardly been apart for a week. For 40 years they worked as secretaries in the same department in an insurance company. The picture tells so many stories. It is as if you can perceive the smell of freshly baked cookies and coffee, hear their laughter or a bark from one of the dogs that are pictured on the wall, above the gnome.” The photo of the Schie sisters is part of a larger series, taken by photographer Barbro Fauske Steinde in 1989. They were published in Billedbladet NÅ, and were awarded in the competition Picture of the Year that same year. The photo series is now in the National Archives of Norway as a part of private archive #1307 - Pressefotografenes Klubb, Årets bilde. The archive consists of approx. 8000 press photos admitted to the competition in the period 1974-1990.
