They first travelled to Japan for training at 1 Reinforcement Holding Unit, Hiro. The day before embarking for Korea, Private White drowned at Hiro, and was buried in the British Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery in Yokohama. Privates Watson, Scurry and Fury served in Korea with the 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment Private Watson was wounded in action on 7 August 1952 and returned to Australia. Private Fury was wounded in action in September 1952 and also returned to Australia. Private Scurry continued his service and following a raid to capture a Chinese prisoner, he was reported assumed missing, presumed killed in action on 25 January 1953.
