There is also the Jordan Pond hiking trail there for a comfortable hike around the lake. Behind the Jordan Tea House is a path that leads a short ways through the tree's and comes out at the Jordan Pond carriage roads, Jordan Pond stream, and several popular hiking trails. Be on the lookout for horses and horse drawn carriages as these carriage roads get a lot of use. Horse drawn carriage rides are available at Wildwood Stables just around the corner from the Tea House. Parking is often a parking in this area of the park so I suggest you board the free Islander Explorer Buses at the Bar Harbor Village Green, you want the number 5 bus marked Jordan Pond, and if you want to really enjoy that area consider renting a bike in town. The free buses all have front and read bike carriers and the carriage roads in and around Jordan Pond area are very relaxing.
