Practical science like this is always a winner, as I'm reminded of that glorious day in Anfield when we water rocketed a 19 litre cooler bottle beyond the tower roof. Ah, happy days. In this case it was a Mentos and Coke shoot, and it's fair to say that the kids were perhaps a little underwhelmed. The plume didn't rise much beyond what you see in the pic, and the reason can also be seen if you look closely. Behind the bottle are several mentos that didn't make it into the bottle as the launch mechanism was flawed.
