Thanks to some strategic placement on the flightforum in Finland, that one got 515 views! Well blow me if we didn't have a repeat today! Laura read in Air Force Monthly that Manchester had recently taken possession of a Nimrod that they're going to use an exhibit in the ever growing and improving Aviation Viewing Park. We went along today to see if we could spot it. Sadly we couldn't, so I imagine it's in a hangar somewhere awaiting undergoing prep work. We did however get a decent bit of spotting in. We were graced with a couple of jumbos, which is unusual for us even at Manchester, and a host of other traffic. I was using the old 500mm lens which is a manual focus and so my pictures were very hit and miss. This is a good one though. We got a couple of waving pilots, but maximum respect goes to the pilot of this Helvetic Airways Fokker 100, who went as far as to slide his window back to wave to the spotters. I'm not sure if they know how much a wave is appreciated, but we thank them for it! :) Followers of my stream may well remember this shot of a waving pilot from a KLM plane at Schiphol.
