We skipped last years due to the absence of the Reds. Generally we get the train but due to engineering works we decided to drive this time. Further breaking with airshow tradition, I deliberately left my camera at home and only brought my compact. It proved to be a wise decision. We were into a 25 knot headwind blasting at us for three hours and we got drenched in sea spray and I'm still full of salt! The display was excellent. Blackpool have upped their ante a bit this year, and grown it to a two day show, unusually over a Sunday and Monday. We even got offered programmes - not something I've encountered before at Blackpool. The programme was really excellent though, with the Tucano, Breitling wingwalkers, Typhoon, BBMF, Reds and some really interesting historic and oddball stuff. Southport had better sit up and take notice! As I saw the Reds today, here they are as photo of the day. Very, very small. :) And now I think I may shower and tend to my horrible sunburn from the sun that was behind bloody clouds all day. Maybe it was windburn...
