Clematis is one of the most popular garden plants. Known for its incredible flowers, clematis is made of woody, climbing vines. It offers such a broad range of bloom colors (blue, purple, pink, red, white), shapes and seasons (spring, summer and fall). It is a genus within the buttercup family, Ranunculaceae. Originating in China, the plant was brought to Japan in the 17th century.

$Academic name: Hibiscus x Taitanbicus.\nTaitanbicus is a hybrid of Hibiscus moscheutos and Hibiscus coccineus, which was developed by a Japanese company. It is perennial and, while each flower blooms only for a day, about 200 flowers bloom from one stock per season (July-September). The flower is huge with the size of 15-25 cm. The color consists of bright red, red, peach white, pink, rose etc.$

$Large and gaudy hawker, its dark body inlaid with bright nuggets of apple-green and sky-blue. Typically hunts low down along borders, often in the half-dark, like a phantom. Markings, morphology and behaviour render it unmistakable. It is not closely related to other European Aeshna.\nField characters: Tot 67-76mm, Ab 51-61mm, Hw 43-53mm. One of the larger Aeshna species. \nHabitat: Breeds in wide range of waters, preferring those are stagnant, small and shaded, often murky with no substrate other than leaf litter, such as garden ponds or forest pools. Feeds along woodland ridges and clearings.\nFlight Season: Most typical of the late summer (July and August) and seldom seen before June, but flies well into autumn, with occasioanal records in November.\nDistribution: Often common in urban or heavily forested areas. One of the commoner Aeshna species in Central Europe.\n\nThis is a common Dragonfly in the described Habitats in the Netherlands.$
