$Medium to tall, erect, foetid annual, often reaching 1.5m or more in height, generally hairless. Leaves oval to elliptical, usually lobed and with jagged teeth. Flowers white to purplish, erect funnel-shaped, 50-100mm long, solitary at the axils of the upper leaves, sometimes in the forks of branches; calyx large, half the length of the corolla, sharply angled. Fruit an erect, spiny, egg-shaped capsule, 35-70mm long.\nHabitat: Bare, cultivated and waste ground, field margins.\nFlowering Season: July-October.\nDistribution: Indigenous in C & S America. Naturalized in great parts of Europe.\nIn the Netherlands quite common in rich sandy soils in the Sand Dunes.\n\nThe Plant is extreme poisonous.\n\nThis Picture is made in the Sand Dunes of South Holland (the Netherlands) in November 2018).$
